On Talk of the Town, Dave Clark talks with Mickel London, founder of the Music Medicine Benefit Concert, and Felicie Standley, a therapist at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Dave also talks with Khale’iya Harley, a 16-year-old sickle cell patient.

Music Medicine Benefit Concerts facilitate non-profit organizations and events that seek support and fundraising for humanitarian or compassionate purposes. Music Medicine, founded by Mickel London in 2010, aims to produce music events that celebrate, uplift, and heal through the power of music and community. He especially devotes this work to children in need or in crisis.

The above event was held at Yoshi’s in Oakland, CA in 2024. It was produced and hosted by Mickel London and co-host, Joe Fonzi, Emmy-Award-winning sports anchor for KTVU, in partnership with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland. It featured an all-star band of more than 14 talented music artists All proceeds were donated to the Sickle Cell unit at Children’s Hospital, Oakland.
